A technologist and successful inventor in my own right, I've worked in-depth for 25 years through the entire life cycle of the patents on my inventions. My experience is primarily as technologist and inventor, but my curiosity and interest in patent process brings me into the overlap with law and procedure. My experience spans:
A chemical process engineer by training, my inventions fall in the overlap of artificial intelligence, an information technology domain, with continuous manufacturing control, a chemical engineering domain. Over the course of my career I've worked with a wide range of chemical and polymer processes, and a wide range of computers and systems, both general purpose and dedicated control systems. I've developed two significant real-time software systems as well as PC-based systems. My artificial intelligence work falls in the expert system and neural network domains. In addition to my two technical degrees, I also hold a graduate certificate in sport psychology. I'm a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Delaware.
As an involved inventor who engaged the patent process through all it's phases, I bring a sharp understanding of the legal dynamics that pull on an expert. I understand that expert testimony is not just answering questions, but understanding the position I am supporting and avoiding the damaging mistakes that inexperienced experts make. True, another expert may come with world-class credentials, but if such an expert gives away the case by careless or unknowing answers in deposition, the credentials don't help. I have the experience in deposition and the understanding of the process to effectively testify in support of my analysis.
You'll find my credentials quite impressive to both judges and juries: twenty two years as technical expert at DuPont, a world renowned company; inventor of 17 patented inventions; holder of graduate degrees in both engineering and psychology; licensed Professional Engineer; author of seven books; founder and operator of an independent publishing company. I have experience in chemical process control; manufacturing; chemical process research and development; software design on minicomputers and windows; publishing; e-business; graduate training in sport psychology; and as a self-developed expert in family dynamics of personality disorders. My history of independent accomplishment at a high level in multiple disciplines makes me a highly credible advocate. I'm also convincing in testimony, expressing myself clearly and confidently without defensiveness.
Of course, as an expert, my obligation is to testify fully and truthfully. I can only argue in support of positions that are supported by my technical knowledge and judgment.
My Litigation Consulting/Expert Witness Resume lists the significant litigation support work I've done, and the diverse technical areas in which I have expertise.
Whether you need expert analysis, infringement/validity reports, or deposition testimony, or even prosecution technical support, I have the experience, understanding, and disposition to effectively support your litigation
